cgd trouble

Following the guide, I just tried on amd64-current

# disklabel -t wd2
smallbackup|Automatically generated label:\
        :dt=ESDI:se#512:ns#63:nt#16:sc#1008:nc#620181:\
        :pa#625142448:oa#0:ta=ccd:\
        :pc#625142448:oc#0:\
        :pd#625142448:od#0:
# cgdconfig -s cgd0 /dev/wd2a aes-cbc 128 < /dev/urandom
# dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/rcgd0d bs=32k
dd: /dev/rcgd0d: Read-only file system
1+0 records in
0+0 records out
0 bytes transferred in 0.001 secs (0 bytes/sec)

Why read-only?

(I'm pretty sure I successfully did exactly the same thing yesterday with
the e partition of another disk, same computer yesterday:
backup|Automatically generated label:\
        :dt=ESDI:se#512:ns#63:nt#16:sc#1008:nc#1938021:\
        :pa#614817:oa#63:ta=4.2BSD:ba#0:fa#0:\
        :pc#1953525105:oc#63:\
        :pd#1953525168:od#0:\
        :pe#1952910288:oe#614880:te=ccd:
but apparently not?)

Cheers,

Patrick
