Latest macppc GENERIC hangs



Something in the recent PPC churn is causing problems on macppc; the kernel hangs right after printing available memory:

...macppc was unbuildable for a few days until a recent fix; this hang was immediately evident (even before the 5.99.44 bump) in the latest autobuild.
