current hangs, then continues

Hi!

I'm running 5.99.41/20101201 as desktop. Today, under medium load
(around 2.5), I've had two times when all disk accessing programs
hung.

ctrl-t output for rsync said:
load: 2.17  cmd: rsync 23347 [pager_map] 43.34u 169.63s 3% 1912k

After a few seconds (~30s the first time, ~15s the second) the system
continued working as expected.

I've never noticed such behaviour before. Has anyone else seen this?
Any ideas what could have caused this?
