If that's the case, check my PR, which was referenced earlier... 
see http://gnats.netbsd.org/42853 (shorter link; same PR).  I boot my
T43 to netbsd infrequently, but every time I do the annoyance of the
TrackPoint not working is worth a few choice words of surprise.
