I am also using LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8".  This bug bit me, too.  I hadn't
tried cut & paste, but I can no longer search for an an option flag by
typing "/-l<Enter>", for example.  Very annoying!

Hmm.  I think that I noticed the bug longer ago than that.
