5.0_BETA installation destroys cgd disklabel

Hi,

(dmesg from 4.0_BETA2 and 5.0_BETA attached)

I recently installed NetBSD 5.0_BETA on notebook TOSHIBA Satellite 1135.
There already were NetBSD partitions with 4.0_BETA2 installation, the
disklabel before 5.0_BETA installation was something like:

        size   offset     fstype
a:   208845 17141355     4.2BSD   1024  8192     0
c:   208845 17141355     unused      0     0
d: 58605120        0     unused      0     0
e: 41254920 17350200    unknown
f: 17141292       63       NTFS

The root partition "a" has "init.root=/mnt" in /etc/sysctl.conf, it's
fstab is:

/dev/wd0a      /       ffs     rw   1 1
/dev/cgd0a     /mnt    ffs     rw   1 2

The right (working) disklabel of cgd0 is (the cgd0 lives in wd0e):

        size    offset     fstype
a: 39157768   2097152     4.2BSD      0     0     0
b:  2097152         0       swap
d: 41254920         0     unused      0     0

Now the problem is that after installation of 5.0_BETA from cd
(downloaded from ftp, version 200812150000Z) to partition "f", the
disklabel of cgd0 looks like being "reset" or something:

        size    offset     fstype
a: 41254920         0     4.2BSD      0     0     0
d: 41254920         0     unused      0     0

I can recover from this situation by changing the cgd "verify_method"
from "disklabel" to "none", configure the cgd0 (type the right
passphrase) and "redisklabel" the cgd0 with the right disklabel.

The wd0e config file for cgd:
algorithm aes-cbc;
iv-method encblkno;
keylength 192;
verify_method disklabel;
keygen pkcs5_pbkdf2/sha1 {
         iterations ***;
         salt ***=;
};

First I thought that it is impossible that the disklabel on cgd0 was
destroyed (it is even a verify method for cgd to check valid disklabel!)
and that I've done something wrong, but during the 5.0_BETA installation
I never typed the passphrase for cgd0 or worked somehow with cgd so what
could happened? After the first installation I did the mentioned
recovery and used the 4.0 and 5.0 systems without problems. Then I
wanted to split the 5.0 partition to two and did the installation again.
And again the cgd0 disklabel was destroyed. This time I was very careful
and I am sure I didn't mess up the cgd0 disklabel myself -- so I
concluded that it has to be the installation of 5.0_BETA which is
destroying the disklabel and I probably should report this problem
(should I file a PR?).

Attached are dmesg logs for both 4.0_BETA2 (built around 20070610) and
5.0_BETA (20081215).

Kind regards,

r.
