wpi0 not associating with access point

I've had a situation where wpi0 (on amd64 with -current as of mid-May)
wouldn't associate with an access point.  Kismet showed many visible;
when I booted an Ubuntu CD, it had no trouble.  Back in NetBSD, though,
I couldn't get anywhere.  Any suggestions?  (Fixed since May?  I should
be able to upgrade the kernel soon.)
