That works!

I guess login.conf isn't as straight forward as I thought.

Do you know if this is a problem with the netbsd defaults, current's inability 
to accommodate slapd or slapd not accommodating netbsd? ... or just a bug?

I haven't increased or decreased my DB in months and I only started seeing 
this recently ...
