His name is on the cover of every piece of printed BSD documentation
spanning almost 25 years.  He regularly participates on our mailing
lists, the FreeBSD lists, Linux mailing lists, and almost any mailing
list you can find that has anything to do with Unix and wireless
networking.  He wrote libtiff, which just about everyone uses, and
HylaFAX/FlexFAX.  He's a director of the FreeBSD Foundation.  Google
will find you at least three different email addresses for him with
a trivial search.

Never mind that, however, src/doc/3RDPARTY lists him, with his preferred
email address, as the maintainer of ath-hal.

The OpenBSD-inspired "it's a blob so it must be bad somehow...let me just
pick a way!" rhetoric is tiresome.  If that's not what you were doing,
I apologize, but it sure looks from here like it was.  It's harder to
pick a guy who's _easier_ to find, in the open-source world, than Sam,
or one who is more responsive to user questions, complaints, and requests
about the software he maintains.
