I have had no problems using iwi-firmware3 on NetBSD 4.99.9 (kernel and
userland) built on 27/1. However, I have had another problem since this
update-- I am no longer to associate to WEP networks, though I am able
to associate with security-less APs.

wpa_supplicant starts and tries to associate with a given WEP network,
but never actually connects. No error message is given for failed
authentication; it keeps on trying indefinetly.

Trying to associate without wpa_supplicant yields a similarly
disappointing result. iwi0 can be configured with the normal ssid and
nwkey options; but when the interface is brought up, the state never
becomes 'active'.

I have tried this on multiple WEPed APs, each of which has had other
active users.

However:
(isla)$ dmesg | grep iwi
iwi0 at pci2 dev 2 function 0: vendor 0x8086 product 0x4224 (rev. 0x05)
iwi0: interrupting at irq 11
iwi0: 802.11 address 00:13:ce:7c:15:cc
iwi0: 11a rates: 6Mbps 9Mbps 12Mbps 18Mbps 24Mbps 36Mbps 48Mbps 54Mbps
iwi0: 11b rates: 1Mbps 2Mbps 5.5Mbps 11Mbps
iwi0: 11g rates: 1Mbps 2Mbps 5.5Mbps 11Mbps 6Mbps 9Mbps 12Mbps 18Mbps
24Mbps 36Mbps 48Mbps 54Mbps
iwi0: unknown authentication state 4
iwi0: unknown authentication state 4
iwi0: unknown authentication state 4
[...repeats...]

Is this at all useful? Anything that I can do to resolve this?

  -Oliver
