Well, I am not sure how what you did could have broken sysctl - did
you make sure you did a make clean && make depend && make in your
compile directory?  Perhaps there was a stale dependency
somewhere... though looking at your config I see:

that you have veriexec components commented out... is this really the
config file you used?
