Looking in pkgsrc, it looks as though the suse_100 package has support for
x86_64, but the sun-jre package doesn't.  Is there a technical barrier not yet
overcome here, or is it just that no one's done the typing yet to build a
native version?  More generally, can we run 32-bit code on 64-bit systems at
all?  I'm looking to do a new box, and I'd love to run it natively in 64-bit
mode, but it looks like I won't be able to get Java support if I do.
