hmm. more diagnostic: here is the auich ac97 link rate measurements at
boot time. Notice how it has suddenly decided its a 76803hz device!!

$ grep auic /var/log/messages | grep link
Jan 15 08:42:36 garlique /netbsd: auich0: measured ac97 link rate at 48002 Hz, will use 48000 Hz
Jan 16 16:20:31 garlique /netbsd: auich0: measured ac97 link rate at 48001 Hz, will use 48000 Hz
