you either need to make enough contiguous memory for the firmware to
load or upgrade to -current, where this issue (among many others with
iwi(4)) is solved.
e.g.,
# ulimit -d unlimited
# ifconfig iwi0 down
# dd if=3D/dev/zero of=3D/dev/null bs=3D[start e.g., at half of the size of
your ram and increase the value, until it it works] count=3D1
# ifconfig iwi0 up
