current-users: vnd0: dos partition I/O error on smbfs

If I try to mount an fs image on an smbfs (not samba) mount point, I  
get dos partition I/O error and the image is garbled. Copy the image  
to the local machine and mount it and it works fine. Is anyone else  
seeing this?
