Actually there's a multi-threaded CVS client of sorts that uses threads
properly, not to open multiple connections, but to run various parts of
the update process (tree walking, list sharing, data copying, etc.) in
parallel.  It's called CVSup.  ;-)

Apparently its server side is much less hard on a shared server than the
plain old CVS application (or rsync, for that matter).

(word is that it'll build native on more NetBSD platforms now too....  ;-))
