(This seems more like a netbsd-help, netbsd-users, or tech-pkg type of
question, but...(^&  You asked on current-users.)

The GIMP does evyerthing that you list, except for rescaling to max size
with a single key-press---so far as I know.  (You can probably add
that through the extension language, but don't look at me.  (^&)
(Yes, it does load PostScript into a bitmap, contrary to what
another post seemed to imply---as far as I recall, anyway; I haven't
done that in a few years.)


On the down side, it lacks xv's visual-schnauzer(sp) feature.  And
while it doesn't bring in all of KDE or GNOME, it is shamefully
large.  (^&
