Hi,

I assume the NetBSD-loader itself won't even start?

I experienced this also some years ago.

Perhaps you try the following:

Boot from the CD. When the countdown starts, hit any key (except RETURN).
Now try "boot wd0:netbsd" (or was it wd0a? don't remember, perhaps try
help).

Now *IF* your system boots from harddisk now, try the "fdisk -i -B"
command to rewrite the MBR and the boot selector.

Maybe that helps.
