Recent changes in current to fix the pd6729 pcmcia bridge code and
tidy up the wi code have had a positive effect regarding PR 14057 and
it is possible a Compaq WL200 wireless card may soon work. This is
real step forward as this card causes Generic kernels to hang under 1.6
and 2.0.

The card appears to be detected now and it is possible to ifconfig it up
and it looks like it can see an access point. However wiconfig fails to scan
for access points and ifconfig reports a status of no network. I would really
like to get this card working, but am not really familiar with the wireless
code.

The kernel boot messages and some diagnostics are below. If I issue
wiconfig wi0 immediately after a reboot:

# wiconfig wi0

It looks like the local AP with netname "Uol RoamNet" has been seen. But if I
issue a wiconfig wi0 -D it reports:

#wiconfig wi0 -D
scanning ........
No APs available

Occasionally I see command failed messages from the wi driver:

Jul 23 17:28:32 xxx /netbsd: wi0: command failed, cmd=0x11, arg=0xf101

Setting wi_debug=2 and issuing the wiconfig wi0 -D shows:

Jul 23 17:58:06 xxx /netbsd: pcmcia0: card irq 5
Jul 23 17:58:07 xxx /netbsd: wi_reset

Jul 23 17:58:09 xxx /netbsd: wi_watchdog: inquire scan
Jul 23 17:58:11 xxx last message repeated 2 times
Jul 23 17:58:12 xxx /netbsd: wi_stop: disable 1

Any suggestions as to where to put probes in the source code to try and fix
this would be appreciated.

Dave
