Also set BSHELL to your ksh shell in your environment. I think when the
configure is ran, bmake will be build with that as its default shell.

Maybe try setting CONFIG_SHELL to your ksh shell in the environment. (It
is used by configure and sets SHELL for configure.)

Maybe try setting SHELL in your environment. I think it is used by some
make fragments.
