Hi!

Should 'shutdown -p now' also turn off nic's ethernet link?

On my i386 with a fxp nic an acpi enabled kernel is able to power down
the machine with 'shitdown -p ...', but the fxp's ethernet link
remains active (as I can see on my little network switch).

Is this normal? Is there any parameter/kernel option to control this
behavior?

Markus.
