No its not that (its been plugged in at boot).
Would you expect the floppy to appear as an sd?  Note there is no fd or fdc at 
atapibus in the GENERIC config so its not going to be found as a floppy, if 
that makes sense in this context, and presuming it did make sense there is 
presumably more to supporting it that just adding the line to the config 
file.
