Hello @ all!

I think the problem is solved -- for both archs -- freshly
tested on 1.6ZI.

In my kernel config file(s) I had

options		WSEMUL_VT220

The default ist WSEMUL_VT100 (as of GENERIC).

I instinctively had set it to VT220, in most of my kernel
config files...

Sorry for my time-consuming madness...
