Someone suggested on port-macppc that the reason that -current GENERIC
kernels would't last very long after boot is because they exceed 5mb
in size, which is apparently a limit on OF 1.05 because of the
load-base and real-base settings.

I have confirmed that this is the case; after building a custom
-current kernel with a bunch of drivers removed, making the kernel
smaller than 5mb, the kernel makes it all the way to userland.

The bad news is that after booting in to the new kernel, getty
continually crashes! Could this be the result of a fsck'ed up kernel
configuration? Any other ideas about how to figure out what is going
wrong with getty?

I _will_ get both CPU's in my 9600MP working!
