The Atheros radios can tune frequencies in the 4.8 - 5.8 GHz range. Some
radars used for aviation are in that band.  To the best of my knowledge,
the HAL is closed-source out of concerns that if open sources were
modified, you could inadvertently/purposefully interfere with radar.
