I had the exact same problem today. And koffice finally finished compiling
minutes ago.

I am using gcc3-c++-3.3.1 from pkgsrc. I needed five patches for using GCC
3.3.1 to build koffice. I will post them to the tech-pkg now (and
blind-carbon-copy you).
