Hey everyone,

I've just bought myself a WD Raptor. My motherboard, an ASUS A7V8X,
has a Promise SATA RAID controller; to use a SATA drive, you have to
set it up as part of a RAID array. So this is what I ended up with:

Promise RAID controller: 
 - Raptor on Primary SATA   }    Combined into a single array,
 - Caviar on Parallel Cable }    RAID 0, using BIOS tools.

Primary IDE Controller:
 - Maxtor drive
 - CDRW

Secondary IDE Controller:
 - DVD-ROM
 - ZIP drive

I am running NetBSD-current, as of a few days ago. My kernel config 
(included completely at the end) includes the appropriate ataraid
device.

My problem is that NetBSD does not find the controller: nothing appears
in dmesg about ataraid. It does pick up on a Promise serial ATA controller
and sets it up as pciide0 but both channels appear as disabled. The
parallel ATA controller(s) are found as pciide1 and all the connected
drives work fine.

Any ideas? I know ATA RAID is quite new but I was under the impression
that promise controllers were supported. I'll be happy to send any more
information if it would be useful, but I am currently on a low bandwith
link, so it may take me a while.
