OK. The ethernet is not that important to me. However, AFAIK the Linux
driver download at 

http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=linux_nforce_1.0-0248

contains also support for making the digital 5.1 audio work. Or that's
what my brother said (he's running RedHat 8).
