current-users: current build error, /bin/sh is too old?

Here's the error I see. I am unable to use bash or ksh to run
./build.sh as well.

allison:/usr/src % ./build.sh -u -U -D /disk/0/build/i386 distribution
./build.sh: cannot create /dev/null: error 1
./build.sh: cannot create /dev/null: error 1

ERROR: /bin/sh shell is too old; try ksh or bash
*** BUILD ABORTED ***
