Yep, I definitely used build.sh and I definitely saw it do the cleandir
pass.  Not sure why it didn't remove whatever was in the way, but when
I manually wiped out my obj dirs completely, it worked successfully.

(The out-of-date userland has been dated back to 1.5ZC FWIW.)
