        Pullup rev 1.541 (requested by grant in ticket #1115)
         Separate progress reporting into a utility set of routines. Use
         these to provide a standalone progress binary and integrate support
         for this into sysinst.

... what does "ticket #1115" refer to? Is there a defect tracker outside of 
gnats?
