Subject: build using includes in DESTDIR?

Is there any way for me to tell a NetBSD build to write the #include
files to DESTDIR, and ALSO use them during the rest of the build? It
does the former---writes #includes to DESTDIR---but it does not do the
latter---use the new #includes during the build.
