This seems to be a fairly common situation.  I cannot run with the agp
driver in my laptop (either one), nor three of my 4 desktops.  Many
different video controllers and motherboard manufacturers in the mix.

Perhaps the right answer should be "for i810, load the agp driver" and
it be removed from GENERIC?
