Well 6-10 months is not *that* long, I hope :-)

No really, I can't either stop the machines an hour or mare to
downgrade, bother with the /etc stuff wich has evolved, and the /dev
stuff, too.

My understanding is that the branch point is the right moment for that,
and I will wait.
