This is bmtphy.  You can find this by grep'ing 0818 and 0017, and then
grep'ing xxBROADCOM_3C905C under sys/dev/mii.

I'm not sure why you'd like to blank out the mac address but I guess
you may want to do so for ipv6 link local address also...
