I had problems with such a card. It was soldered on the motherboard of
an HP Vectra 800.

Typical crash protocol was supp-ing from the same network to this
machine. Got a dozen of files, then network was stuck. Before that, was
anyway slow. Activating builtin CRC check didn't help at all.

Downing speed to 10 Mb/s helped a little, the card stalled after two
dozens of files ... :-|

Loading exphy or not was ot an issue, neither.

Finally installed an IntelPro 100 (fxp) an now everythings fine.

I can -hardly, its the main Web server- lead a couple of tests, if it
can help, let me know which tests.
