Hi!

Within our intranet behind a firewall (running netbsd 1.6A with
ipfilter/ipnat) I see the following strange network performance
problem/difference in uploading files to the internet depending on
'who' is accessing the internet (via nat / ftpproxy):

- If 'who' is a -current or 1.6_BETA1 machine (no matter what
hardware, I see it with i386, alpha, sparc, macppc) ftp upload to
the internet becomes incredibly slow (starting with about 80 kb/sec,
falling down to about 10 kb/sec).

- Withinh the same network segment (same switch) 1.5_RC2 machines and
all other kinds of (un*x) machines we have upload to the same
internet destination is much faster (starts and maintains about 300
  kb/sec).

Does anybody else observe this behavior? What is 'the difference'
between (-current, 1.6_BETA1) and at least 1.5_RC2 in handling such
network connections?

Markus.
