Hi,

Got a Sony digital video camera recorder with an USB connector (and memory
stick (why not CF, argh)). When I connect it to NetBSD, I get

Feb 2 10:53:14 tmp /netbsd: umass0: Sony Sony Handycam, rev 1.00/3.00, addr 2
Feb 2 10:53:14 tmp /netbsd: umass0: using RBC over CBI
Feb 2 10:53:14 tmp /netbsd: scsibus0 at umass0: 2 targets, 1 luns per target
Feb 2 10:53:14 tmp /netbsd: scsibus0: waiting 2 seconds for devices to
settle...
Feb 2 10:53:16 tmp /netbsd: sd0 at scsibus0 target 1 lun 0: <Sony, Sony

Feb 2 10:53:16 tmp /netbsd: sd0: could not mode sense (4/5); using
fictitious geometry
Feb 2 10:53:16 tmp /netbsd: sd0: 3952 KB, 3 cyl, 64 head, 32 sec, 512
bytes/sect x 7904 sectors

And if I try to use mount_msdos to mount it:

mount_msdos: /dev/sd0d on /a: Invalid argument

Feb 2 10:57:50 tmp /netbsd: sd0: could not mode sense (4/5); using

Has anyone had success accessing a Sony with NetBSD?

Related question: Is it possible to use some digital video card to transfer
the digital video signal to CD-R discs using NetBSD? (I guess you can do
it with windoze.) Would be nice to store short videos on CD-R instead of
tapes..

Thanks!
