Folks, 

until now the "link1" flag to pppoe interfaces has been default, meaning
a session is only established on demand (i.e. data being send out of that
interface).

Since I fixed the mode without link1 being set, this is now no longer the
default setting.

If you do not set "link1" manually, the interface will try to establish a
connection as soon as you configure it up. If the remote site closes the
connection, it will start trying to reestablish it imediately.
