All,
Here is are the dmesg files from 3 different PCs. It looks to be a configuration issue, as it does not recognize 3 different types of Ethernet cards.
Card types:
LINKSYS LNE100 TX
HP VISUALIZE -> AMDPC Net Fast +

What does the kernel print for this card?  From the installation media
you can exit the install program and run "dmesg | more" and look through
the kernel messages.
