And that's even when it works... I had a machine which had a Mach64 on
the motherboard, and an add-in video card which also was a Mach64
(with a lot more RAM).  The X server probe would hit the motherboard
video and stop probing there, even though it would later fail on some
of the tests.  I had to hack some of those tests back into the probe
routine to get it to continue on to the add-in card.

(The situation has since improved somewhat, in that the server now
notices the motherboard video is inactive and goes on by itself,
without additional hacks... I haven't tried XFree 4 and its multiple
monitor capability yet...)
