The end result was the same (the SCSI setup had the same output as 
before). The PCI stuff earlier says lots more than it usually does. 
It includes:

pcibios: config mechanism [1][x], special cycles [x][x], last bus 2
PCI IRQ Routing Table rev. 1.0 found at 0xfc730, size 128 bytes (6 entries)
PCI Interrupt Router at 000:15:0 (vendor 0x1166 product 0x0200)
pci_inter_fixup: no compatible PCI ICU found: ICU vendor 0x1166 product 0x0200
Warning: unable to fix up PCI interrupt routing
PCI bus #0 is the last bus
