The ntp server here at rmkhome.com is a Sun IPX running SunOS 4.1.4. It's
also my DNS server and main mailserver.

Because of the ntp exploit I have upgraded NTP on the SunOS box to
ntpd 4.0.99k23, which is the bugfix version from www.ntp.org.

All my NetBSD 1.5 and Solaris boxes are syncing up to it just fine.
However, NetBSD 1.4 is a different story.

On all my 1.4.x boxes I see a lot of:

Apr 12 18:11:20 toad xntpd[136]: synchronized to 216.17.154.225, stratum=2
Apr 12 18:27:54 toad xntpd[136]: synchronisation lost
Apr 12 18:30:44 toad xntpd[136]: synchronized to 216.17.154.225, stratum=2
Apr 12 18:46:36 toad xntpd[136]: synchronisation lost
Apr 12 18:49:29 toad xntpd[136]: synchronized to 216.17.154.225, stratum=2
Apr 12 19:05:02 toad xntpd[136]: synchronisation lost
Apr 12 19:08:01 toad xntpd[136]: synchronized to 216.17.154.225, stratum=2
Apr 12 19:23:44 toad xntpd[136]: synchronisation lost
Apr 12 19:26:29 toad xntpd[136]: synchronized to 216.17.154.225, stratum=2

I have not patched the 1.4 or 1.5 systems for the security bug yet.

Any ideas?
