I have a 1.5Q kernel and userland and both vi and gdb consistently seg 
fault. I haven't reported this as I there is a risk of hardware failure 
but they may be getting bitten by a similar bug. I'll do a little more 
digging when I get home although this is a bit challenging without a 
working debugger. :-)
