I'm regularly using a Xircom CF Ethernet card, with the
Xircom-supplied CF-to-PCMCIA adapter, in a cardbus slot of my
vaio laptop with 1.5_BETA2 (plus my own pcmcia hacks).  Works flawlessly.

Is this CF memory you're talking about? If not, want to try a patch?
