I was hoping that GENERIC_LAPTOP would work better than previous
kernels.
however:
  cbb1: interrupting at irq 11
  cbb1: cacheline 0x0 lattimer 0x20
  cbb1: bhlc 0x821000 lscp 0x20030300
  cardslot1 at cbb1 slot 1 flags 0
  cardbus1 at cardslot1: bus 3 device 0 cacheline 0x0, lattimer 0x20
  pcmcia1 at cardslot1
  wi0 at pcmcia1 function 0wi0: init failed
wi0: timeout in wi_seek to fce0/0; last status ffff
: could not get mac address, attach failed
And my xircom card isn't even detected, which is new also, usually I
could get the xircom with the PCIBIOS stuff, or the wireless card without
PCIBIOS.

I'm using GENERIC_LAPTOP,v 1.2.2.2 2000/10/30 22:27:19 tv, with
no changes.

With my 1.5_ALPHA2 kernel the wireless card is found as:
