I checked between these three machines:

	- NetBSD 1.5J, i386, wi interface
	    wi0 at pcmcia0 function 0: MELCO, WLI-PCM-L11, Version 01.01,
	     port 0x400-0x43fwi0: 802.11 address 00:60:1d:f1:86:61
	- NetBSD 1.5J, i386, ne interface
	    ne2 at pcmcia0 function 0 port 0x400-0x40f port 0x410-0x41f
ne2: SVEC/Hawking Tech. Combo Card Ethernet
	    ne2: Ethernet address 00:e0:98:00:30:9f
	- NetBSD 1.4.2 + KAME, i386, ep interface
	    ep1 at pcmcia1 function 0 port 0x330-0x33f: 3Com 3c589 10Mbps Ethernet
	    ep1: address 00:50:da:87:4b:be, 8KB byte-wide FIFO, 5:3 Rx:Tx split
	    ep1: 10baseT, 10base5, 10base2 (default 10baseT)

in all cases thief side detected the duplicate just fine.
