Hello...

Have a GIF tunnel to my 6bone peer, like so:

gif0: flags=8111<UP,POINTOPOINT,PROMISC,MULTICAST> mtu 1280
        tunnel inet xxx.6.xxx.185 --> xxx.220.xxx.249
        inet6 fe80::a00:xxxx:fe1f:e385%gif0 -> :: prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x4
        inet6 3ffe:xxx:x:x::39 -> 3ffe:xxx:x:x::38 prefixlen 127

And my default route is set, like so:

route add -inet6 default fe80::%gif0

I have my localhost as my nameserver, and seeing a tcpdump:

01:01:37.144424 xxxx-tun.v6.nougat.org > www.6bone.net: icmp6: echo request
01:01:38.143421 xxxx-tun.v6.nougat.org > www.6bone.net: icmp6: echo request
01:01:39.143533 xxxx-tun.v6.nougat.org > www.6bone.net: icmp6: echo request
01:01:40.143648 xxxx-tun.v6.nougat.org > www.6bone.net: icmp6: echo request
01:01:42.273494 fe80::a00:xxxx:fe1f:e385 > fe80::: icmp6: neighbor sol: who has fe80::
01:01:43.273621 fe80::a00:xxxx:fe1f:e385 > fe80::: icmp6: neighbor sol: who has fe80::
01:01:44.273713 fe80::a00:xxxx:fe1f:e385 > fe80::: icmp6: neighbor sol: who has fe80::

(the packets never come back...)

I also see this in my /var/log/messages:

Oct 20 00:53:40 xxxx /netbsd: nd6_lookup: failed to add route for a neighbor(3ffe:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx::0038), errno=17

Does this look like a misconfiguration on my end or something I should be bothering my tunnel peer about?

Thanks,

cc
