In the last few days I have been unable to do an anonymous
cvs update, as I've said on this list. I reloaded a backup of
august 28'th cvs /usr/src tree (using tar) and was still 
unable to do a cvs update on the directory, with the result
of a good wait being an eof from the server again.

My fix for this is to do a cvs checkout of src from scratch.
However, I don't understand/know what has happened to prevent
my being able to do the cvs update. Is the server software 
broken, has something changed versions that I didn't update?
Has Luke reversed the battery in his light saber and blown out
the power converter? Inquiring minds WANT to know...

Tune back tomorrow, when joe tries to update his NEW cvs tree.
