I've been rolling one of my PC's between 1.4.2 and 1.5_ALPHA/current for a
couple weeks now, and I've noticed that the performance of vr0 in 100btFDX
mode really sucks in 1.5_ALPHA (need to verify current, it's still fetching
sources).

As I recall with 1.4.2 I got 2.5 megs/sec, with 1.5_ALPHA I get 150K/sec;
both with a simple FTP transfer of a 70 meg tarball.

A CATS machine (arm32) running 1.4.2 with an identical vr0 board (actually
almost all the peripherals are the same) consistently gets 2.5 megs/sec.
I'm afraid to upgrade it to 1.5 until the PC is settled, so I don't have
1.5_ALPHA numbers for it, sorry.

Does this scenario ring a bell with anyone??

As an aside, I've been planning to move these two machines to tlp boards
(Linksys PNIC) after they get settled with 1.5something, but before I do
that I'm willing to run tests to see if the vr0 problem can be fixed.
